Le 12\u00a0ao\u00fbt dernier, le pilote d\u2019essai Rapha\u00ebl Domjan a en effet atteint, aux commandes du\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarstratos.com\/\" target=\"_self\">SolarStratos<\/a>, 9\u00a0521 m\u00e8tres d\u2019altitude. Il a d\u00e9pass\u00e9 le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fai.org\/record\/16042\" target=\"_self\">pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent record<\/a> qui avait \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tabli par le Suisse Andr\u00e9 Borschberg en 2010 avec le\u00a0Solar Impulse (9\u00a0235\u00a0m). D\u2019une envergure de pr\u00e8s de 25 m\u00e8tres, l\u2019appareil est \u00e9quip\u00e9 de cellules solaires sur les ailes qui occupent 22\u00a0m<sup>2<\/sup> de surface. Il vise \u00e0 montrer tout le potentiel de technologies propres et ouvrir ainsi la voie \u00e0 un transport a\u00e9rien d\u00e9carbon\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"txt-int\">Objectif\u00a0stratosph\u00e9rique<\/h2>\n<p>Avec ce nouveau record, le projet vient de franchir un nouveau palier. L\u2019\u00e9quipe de SolarStratos, qui compte notamment l\u2019astronaute fran\u00e7ais Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Clervoy parmi ses parrains, entend d\u00e9sormais d\u00e9passer les 10\u00a0000 m\u00e8tres d\u2019altitude. D\u2019un poids de 12\u00a0kg, elle lui fournira l\u2019oxyg\u00e8ne n\u00e9cessaire pour respirer et le prot\u00e9gera de la tr\u00e8s faible pression pr\u00e9sente \u00e0 cette altitude (22\u00a0000\u00a0m).
